We stayed overnight in Wanganui waiting for our canoe rental pick-up and our ride to National Park Village (in the Tongariro National Park) today. There we want to hike a part of the Alpin Crossing and climb the summits of Mount Ngauruhoe (‚Mount Doom‘ of Lord of the Rings) and Mount Tongariro.

Wir haben in Wanganui übernachtet. Der Kanuverleiher holt heute die Boote ab und bringt uns zum National Park Village im Tongariro National Park. Dort wollen wir einen Teil des Alpin Crossings wandern, den Mount Ngauruhoe (den ‚Schicksalsberg‘ aus Herr der Ringe) und Mount Tongariro besteigen.
